Facebook Me!

Ok, I must be the last person on earth to NOT have a Facebook account.

Well,  I do actually. But it was started just as a snooping device, i.e. to poke my nose into who might be around there, how they look like etc etc....

But after a recent meetup with a dear friend Joelle (I suddenly realise we didn't take any photos together then!), whom I have not met for the last 5 years, I decided that I should do something to get my social circle buzzing again.

I suppose the best first step is to acquaint with them right from the beginning.

So I've spent the last half an hour or so sending friend requests to people whom I am still in contact with, and with some who are quite already out of touch.

Let's see where this leads us....

On another note, for the past 2 weeks that this blog has been inactive, we've done alot more than we ever did with Sean. Yes, we are boring parents. Weekends are usually spent having a good breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner just the 3 of us, or with our respective families. Perhaps the only other "exciting" thing we've done is cycling at East Coast Park.

So it would be fair to say that we accomplished alot over the past fortnight with not one but TWO visits to Polliwogs, a trip to the zoo (with an elephant trip which I so regret after cos it was actually quite dangerous for Sean), a visit to Julia Gabriel Centre where we signed up for a holiday programme for Sean (starting next Monday to Friday! So exciting!), property viewing (just for the fun of it), swimming....

Sean loves Polliwogs and he can never have enough fun with the balls and slides. To be honest, I too enjoyed the slides too and had on more than one occasion went on the long swirling slide myself. And guess what? For that 2 visits we were there, Sean returned home with no play injuries like cuts or bruises. Whereas his mum ME, went home with an abrasion on my arm. I should have known better that those things are not built for big people.

And I finally got my tooth implant done! And that means I am no longer bo-gay, and that means I can take nice wide grin photos!

That brings us to the photoshoot we had with Sean this morning. Here are a few for preview:

We took loads of shots! Sean was all over the place and we had a tiring time making him laugh and look at the camera at the same time. But it was sure enjoyable.

Shall go and resize the photos and put them up soon.

In the meantime, you can add me on Facebook with my email at nickytensai@hotmail.com. Gosh, can't imagine me actively managing a Facebook account now....it's quite unusual!

Sean is 23 months old!

My dear Sean,

Just one more month and you will be a 2 year old boy!

Gone are the days when you are so easy to handle. Now, you're in the full blown terrible two's stage. You really know how to work your tear ducts to manipulate your parents. Sigh. I dread to have to hit you to make you listen and understand, but boy, you are a tough cookie! It looks like you have inherited the hot-headedness and stubborn nature from the both of us. Gosh! That's double the fiery!

Sometimes, your daddy and I would joke about getting you a cane for your 2nd birthday. I think it may well be a done deal.

But my dear boy, despite the increasing frustrations that you bring as you grow into toddlerhood, you are still so capable of making us smile. Your cute antics, your babblings, the way you look at us with your puppy eyes....they never fail to touch the heart of my heart.

Darling Sean, Mummy is so glad to see you growing so well. We love you so, you know?

Mummy simply can't stop loving you!

I.P. Man

Once upon a time, I saw trailers for the movie titled Ip Man.

And I had foolishly thought that the title meant "I.P." Man - as in, Internet Protocol Man.

Back then, my impression of the movie was that the male lead had travelled through time through the internet, and had ended up in the era of kongfu fighting times.

Suffice to say, you cannot imagine how silly and funny I felt when I finally realised through my sister-in-law that the title was actually a legitimate name pronounced as Yip Mun 叶问.

Who say housewives aren't an imaginative bunch?

Edited to add:

It turns out there is indeed a comic character called IP Man! Hahahaha! Hilarious!

Find out more about it at http://www.ipmanadventures.com/ if you are interested!

Exhilarating June

We have exciting times awaiting!

29 May: Photoshoot for Sean's 2nd Birthday
7 June: My birthday!
9 June: Sean's hearing test
11 June: Sean's birthday!
14 June: We're flying!

Steve has been awarded a Fellowship and off we are to Edinburgh University, for a grand period of 6 weeks!

Initially, we toyed with the idea of him going alone for the first bulk of it, then Sean and I will join him for the last 2 weeks or so. Eventually we decide to just go together, and make the best of summer in the meadows!

We've found a beautiful place to stay for the 6 weeks. It's just a 5 minutes walk away from the university so Sean and I can have a leisure stroll to have lunch with daddy!
