I laid beside a male stranger

I was wet.

Some lubrication was applied.

A pair of warm hands delivered a gentle massage with swift yet firm strokes...it was the most welcoming and comforting touch that I have experienced in some time now.

I arched my back every now and then, not wanting the nape of my neck to be neglected of this pleasurable sensation.

This went on for a good minute or two, or so I thought.

Then almost suddenly, there was a blasting echo of sounds. I felt warm, and wet. Dripping wet.

Then there was silence, as I felt even more lubrication applied.

After the deed was done, I was left alone, laying there staring at the cold cold ceiling.

I had my eyes closed, falling somewhat into a slumber - yet I kept telling myself not to go to sleep.

In the midst of the headiness, I saw through my heavy eyelids that a man has laid himself down beside me.

After a couple of minutes, he left.

Soon, ANOTHER male came over and made himself comfortable, this time on my left.

He too left after a brief few minutes.

And like as sudden as I was left alone just now, I felt wet again. This time, coldly wet.

Then I was told to stand up and return to my seat where more hands will attend to me.

That pretty much sums up my 2-hour experience in the hair salon just now in the afternoon.

In return to have hair like this.

I WISH!!!!!!

Actually, it ended up more like this.

I had wanted a straight style cut across, but the stylist recommended some layering for more movement, and I went along with the suggestion.

Sigh, looks like there is alot of blowing to be done to keep those ends from sticking out now.

Merlion Me

I've been sick for the last 2 days.

Threw up everything I ate - food, water, anything.

Threw up so many times that there is really nothing more for me to regurgitate. But even so, the urge to vomit is so strong that eventually I threw up foam.

Couldn't stomach anything at all. Think I broke my record of my dieting days.

ATE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR ONE WHOLE DAY.

And drank only a few sips of water.

The doctor diagnosed that it was some gastric problems and prescribed antacid.

I got slightly better after taking some, but still couldn't stomach much food.

No food means no energy, and I was so breathless and weak to do anything. I felt faint even carrying Sean.

There's nothing I could do except to lie down and sleep most of the day away.

Thankfully, my parents and Steve were around to care for Sean.

In 2 days, I lost 1kg and now weighs an incredible 50.5kg!

This is the 3rd day since I was down, and the appetite is slowly but surely creeping back with a vengence.

I just had fishball noodles for supper and I'm still feeling hungry.

And that's on top of the 3 full meals that I already had in the day.

And you know what?

I'm mad craving for Burger King Mushroom Swiss burger.

I couldn't find a more appetising picture

Can you smell the burning rubber?

It has been an exciting day!

Formula 1 Championships 2010 opens today at Bahrain and I'm ecstatic!

Alonso in Ferrari, Massa back stronger than ever, rivalry between Button and Hamilton, and Schumacher in Mercedes.

What a sizzling hot combination for the season!

I'm looking forward to weekends even more now!

I'm rooting for you Alonso!

Not so keen on you though - you on the left.

Legendary comeback? We'll see.

Sean @ 21 months old

I can't believe it's just another 3 more months to Sean's 2nd birthday!

He's learning things at a tremendous speed and frankly, I'm enjoying every bit of it! Even if it means having to employ harsher tactics to correct him the right from the wrongs - yes, I have a stubborn boy on hand. Hitting his hands and telling him a stern "NO!" with me staring right into his eyes doesn't do the trick of stopping a misbehaviour. He really doesn't know when to stop!

But yet, he's an absolutely angel when he's all good and calm. One day at the foodcourt during dinner, he suddenly tugs at my hand and beckons me to bend towards him. Then he gave me a big wet kiss on my lips! It completely took both Steve and me by surprise!

Then after the meal, he grabbed the packet of wet tissue and took out a piece to wipe his mouth and hands - all without us prompting!

Sean can also identify quite a number of vehicles - car, truck, lorry, taxi, van, bus, bicycle, train. He imitates everything we do! Wearing my belt, necklace, ring; he attempts to start the 'engine' of his Giraffe Ride with our key, he even tried to slot a coin into the Giraffe Ride after he tried one of the machine car rides in the mall.

I think my boy is doing really well. And I'm damn proud of that. :)

Chew on my anatomy

At the instant I was born, my mother thought I was a freak.

This was because I was born with my 2 lower incisors. These are called natal teeth, and happens in 1 out of  2000 newborn infants.

Last July, I had my molar extracted.

That surgical procedure, though performed swiftly and successfully, was a horrid experience. It was after all, my first dental surgery - incisions, stitches, bone grafting and all.

To compound matters, I was still breastfeeding then. Thus I actually didn't take any of the prescribed painkillers and relied only on panadols. It was living hell for the whole of that night.

Last Friday, I went for a follow-up dentist appointment. This time for the implant. In a while after reaching the clinic, I found myself staring at the ceiling wearing unfashionable goggles.

Me: So will I hear cracking sounds later, like during the extraction? (totally freaked out then)

Dentist: No, just some drilling sounds.

Me: Oh no! I wonder if that's a better alternative or not! (i was actually absolutely relieved!)

A local anesthetic was administered. I flinched. It was bloody painful.

Dentist: Sorry dear, please bear with it.

He then left the surgery room giving time for the anesthetic to work, leaving me chatting with the assistants, a trying thing to do as I gradually feel the right side of my lips flapping out of control as I speak.

The dentist returned after a round of walking with Sean in his arms, sending flying kisses to everyone in his office.

Then, the surface area of my face is being wrapped up, leaving only an opening exposing my mouth. I felt like 纸包鸡 instinctively. Behind the veil, I tried to picture how I must have looked then. I wanted to tell the dentist to help me take a photo.

Dentist: Ok Nicole, open your mouth wide.

I obeyed and opened my mouth so wide that my jaws seemed to have locked.

Then, the drilling sounds. I begin to imagine how my gums are being slowly pried open by a spiralling motor, sending pieces of gum and spewed blood into the cavity of my mouth. The assistant had a field day administering the suction device.

Dentist: Beautiful piece of bone.

What? Where? My collarbone?

Dentist: Amazing what technology can do today.

Then I realised. He's talking about the piece of artificial bone grafted onto my jaw.

Then came the awkward sounds of a screwdriver turning. You know, that creaking sound.

Dentist: Ok, done!

My face was unwrapped. I attempt to rinse my mouth quite unsuccessfully with my droopy lips. I looked like I had suffered a stroke on the right side.

I made the gentlest effort for my tongue to feel what used to be a gaping hole.

It touches something cold, a metallic stud.

Dentist: So Nicole, how do you feel now?

Me: DAMN SCREWED!

I had ravioli for lunch 10 minutes after I walked out of the clinic and now 3 days later, my teeth on the other side are aching sorely from over-usage.

I told Steve that I have a feeling this might not be the last time I will be screwed on the dentist chair.

He gave me the widest-eyed stare.
