It is amazing how time passes by. Sean is now 1 year and 7 months old! Where did all that time went to?
Sean's teeth are sprouting at such an incredible rate now - all of his upper canines and molars are out. Amazingly, his left lower molar appeared in just 2 days! It just happened overnight that it caught us all by surprise! Here's to more chomping!
Remember we mentioned about Sean's preliminary audiology test carried out in December? The results warranted a further test in January. But we've decided to postpone it to give Sean some more time to catch up. After all, this further test required him to be sedated. So there are indeed risks involved.
Besides, Sean has improved by leaps and bounds recently too. Although his speech development is still rather slow, at least now he is so much nosier! He repeats almost after everything - us, the programmes on BabyTV, even the lift when it announces which floor it is on!
They say, trust your motherly instinct - I am going with that.
Sean, JIAYOU!!!
So here they are finally! The Tokyo photos. We went on this trip with the great company of my MIL, SIL and her friend. As usual, Sean did so well in the plane, he's a gem! My MIL was so impressed with his non-fussiness on the flights that she was full of praise for him! And my SIL's friend officially named Sean as the most well-behaved boy she has ever seen for he is always so cooperating during mealtimes - giving us ample time to enjoy our food without overly demanding for our attention.
But overall, this trip was actually, quite boring.
Perhaps it's because there is really not much for us to do in Tokyo. We've been there once in 2008, when I was 3+ months preggie with Sean. Then, we did so much more sightseeing! But this time round, travelling with a tot on hand (a very active one!) proves to be rather inhibitating. Or maybe, we are just being very boring parents.
Luckily, our hotel is so centrally located that there is not much commuting to do when it comes to shopping. We stayed in the Hotel Century Sothern Tower, which is just 3 minutes away from Shinjuku Station, and just opposite Takashimaya. We have everything at the doorstep! Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, eateries, restaurants. I put on 1kg on this trip which is alot, considering that I didn't put on any for the Edinburgh one.
Perhaps the climax of this trip was the visit to Disneyland. I don't know why, but it just felt so magical! The place, the whole experience! I must say the performers really did such an amazing job - they have to be so animated and so full of energy! Do they pop a happy pill before they don on those costumes? Because everyone, everywhere in Disneyland just exudes happiness!
Oh! And you know what? I actually cried when the parade began. This is the parade which all the visitors are waiting for - showcasing various Disney characters in fabulous costumes and props - like just out of the movies! The music was so spectacular that I was so touched and teared. Steve laughed so hard at me.
We've done quite abit of travelling in the past year - Beijing, Edinburgh, Tokyo.
Where will this year bring us to?
First meal in Tokyo. Sean was so excited upon seeing Steve (after not for about a week) that he went on a verbal diarrhea - calling out to Steve every single word he knows - Pa, Ma, Car, Da, Lah, Fa, bla bla bla....
Munching on his favourite Digestive. I think Sean should be their official endorsor!
Outisde the restuarant with Mummy's favourite bear cap!
I like how Sean reaches up to me, wanting to be carried
Mummy's favourite cap doesn't mean it's MY favourite cap. I need to get this off!
Wait, I'll pose first...
Splendid view from the room
We stayed on the 30th floor, overlooking busy Shinjuku
Sean pondering what to have for dinner
The Sack-and-Seat is such a necessity in Tokyo because almost
all the restuarants do not provide high chairs.
Posing with Daddy and the Christmas lightings
KRISPY KREME!
Even the little one couldn't resist!
Daddy rationing the doughnuts
Sean shopping like a geek at Akihabara
Christmas Eve dinner. Sean is in his Santa Claus outfit and he charmed everyone!
Look at his megawatt smile!
Sean must be the slimmest and fastest-running Santa Claus I've ever seen
Leaning against the wall - actually he's trying to put on my bedroom slippers
Time to raid the fridge
Are all those yoghurt for me?
Great! I'll polish them all off now!
Christmas Day dinner. This is the only restaurant we've came across
that provides a highchair.
Group shot. Sean suddenly leaned forward at the very last minute - so cute!
I love this little man.
Tagging along while the adults draw some moolah.
In the subway on the way to Disneyland!
At the entrance
With Sean's favourite Disney character Pooh! Sean was so excited at first
but went all camera-shy.
The 3 little pigs were hilariously funny! Sean was nonchalent though.
Yeah! We're at Disneyland!
We rented a stroller for 700 yen because we didn't bring ours
for convenience of taking the subways.
Sean looks quite content in his new mobile abode
The popcorns came in tubs like these and we finished 2 of them! Sean loves them too!
The adults seem happier than the kid here.
Nightfalls. And the whole place is so beautifully lit up!
Couldn't resist and bought this cute bento
The contents look so cute and delicious too!
Carrot-like fishcake!
And a Pooh-shaped chicken nugget! Why don't they have such cute bentos in Singapore???
The last morning when we dashed for some souvenir shopping across at Takashimaya
But stopping first at Starbucks for our usual daily fix
Sean needs them too you see
Caught this when Sean was just about to shout out "PAPA!"
Checking out - look left
Look right
Ok, it's safe to go home now!
Sean pointing (and pulling) and shouting "Hair!"when I sang "These Are My Little Cheeks"
At Changi Airport
"We're back home already?"
When is our next adventure going to be?
