Mummy's Day

You know u're an (breastfeeding) auntie when:

- you're always washing stuff eg. bottles, teats, bibs, spoons, bowls, hence your clothes are wet most of the time

- you wash ur face at the kitchen sink for fear of waking ur son up if u wash in the bedroom

- ur hair is tied up from the moment u awake right up to the moment u sleep at night

- ur hair is wet after a hairwash and u dun really seem to care

- you wear t-shirts and shorts OUT most of the time

- you wear nursing bras and gone are the strapless ones

- you can't drink anymore alcoholic drinks

- you can't go on diets

- you eat leftover porridge for lunch almost everyday

- you get excited about promotions for kirei kirei handwash

- you get excited about promotions for nepia diapers

- you can't really wear strapless or spaghettil tops

- you shout "Ah Boy!" at the top of ur voice when ur son is misbehaving or indeed behaving very well

- you attack the vegetables and fruits and meat section in supermarkets instead of the snacks/biscuits or wine section

- the place you shop most is Kiddy Palace, Mothercare and children section in departmental stores

- the first question that pops up in mind when ur visiting a shopping mall is "Is there a clean diaper room?"

- you no longer wear high heels

- you no longer wear anymore makeup

- the only things that are really meant for ur own use in ur bag is ur wallet and handphone. the rest that made up 99% of ur neverfull is meant for the princely son

- you start to ask questions like "Where's Illuma?", "Tampines 1 nice or not?"

- you are keen on news of the AWARE saga, rather than the latest on.....(who's the latest most talked about hottie in town anyway?)

- your most exciting weekday is Tuesday cos you get to watch the Taiwanese variety show "Guess Guess Guess" in the afternoon

- your most exciting weekday is also Thursday cos you know it's just 1 more day to the weekend!!

I think there are a lot more but I can't seem to think of any right now.

So yes, this is my life at the moment.

I sometimes lament and recall with fond memories the days of non-auntiehood when I have more time to myself.

Indeed, not all mothers become aunty-ish. In fact, many mothers nowadays are still pretty and hot looking.

Sadly, I'm not one of them.

Never mind lah.

This is my first Mother's Day with Sean.

And I do feel damn proud.

So auntie or hottie or not, I don't really care lah.

As long as Sean grows up well and happy, I'm all out to embrace auntiehood for as long as Sean wants or needs me to.

Here's to all great mothers, Happy Mother's Day!!!
